Last night I couldn't sleep much, and when I did I dreamed of lime margaritas for some reason. But, what was on my mind was what I wanted to do next with this play-by-blog. I think the new year coming might be a great time to change it up a little. I'd love to hear your thoughts about this, so feel free to leave a comment below.
I was planning on wrapping up Grind4E within a room or two. What comes after will be even more exciting!
I would like to run one of the following modules...
- Revenge of the Iron Lich (saveversusdeath.com)
- Crucible of the Gods (saveversusdeath.com)
- Gallery of the Hate Blossom (saveversusdeath.com)
- Murder of the Maelstrom Queen (dungeonoracle.com)
I think any of these adventures would shine in the play-by-blog format. These adventures are intended to be played in a single 4-hour session, not the week-by-week installment kind. So there would be a definitive start and end to them. And each one is certainly VERY challenging.
I can only do one play-by-blog at a time, so in order to run one of the above, Grind4E must come to an end. But, you guys are actually pretty close to accomplishing your goal of rescuing Jonar Redhammer (who? lol). We could wrap this up in one more chamber. Or, you might feel like you've had your fill of Grind4E and want to move on NOW.
Let me know what you think,
MilwaukeeJoe
P.S.: Just after I posted this, I went to tweet about it. I found something incredible in my twitter feed. Several buddies tweeted that our site was mentioned by Tracey Hurley (Sarah Darkmagic) in a recent article on the Wizards website!

All I can say is, "Holy F*#k!" MilwaukeeJoe is officially stunned (save ends).

I'm all for trying to finish this campaign. I have too much trauma from previously unfinished campaign's I've played in, why have it happen again? (I still have saved).
ReplyDeleteAll of those sound fun, but I think 'Revenge of the Iron Lich' sounds particularly interesting. Let's try that one!
Revenge of the Iron Lich is indeed a very fun adventure. The only strike against it right now it that it has 16th level dungeoneers. I'm not sure I want to tackle that high of a level quite yet.
ReplyDeleteAt this point, I'm leaning towards running C1: Crucible of the Gods. It's a wonderful 1st level adventure. If I did run it, I would want only players that haven't yet experienced it to apply.
ReplyDeleteAh, I've already run C1 and Hate Blossom myself so will have to skip out on them. Count me in for the rest though! And if you want an admin hand on those two I have done, just holler.
ReplyDeleteBut definitely let's finish this one first if we're that close.

ReplyDeleteJust remember, a TPK is considered an ending. :EG:
Holy F*#k! MilwaukeeJoe! Congrats! And being the selfish bastard that I am, I'm riding your coattails all the way. If Ambrose continues to survive, he wouldn't mind a chamber or two more to finish this rescue mission. Of course dying would change his mind, OBE.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Would be happy to play in your C1 game. Glad I'm too lazy to read ahead on the other sites.
Ok, here's the plan.
ReplyDeleteWrapping Up Grind4e
We'll finish up this chamber first. If it results in a TPK, game over. If you succeed, however, the next chamber will be the finale. You may yet rescue Jonar Redhammer.
The New Adventure
By this time, the next SND being produced by Sersa V and DrDavyJones may be out. If so, we will run it. I've seen a very rough draft and it is INCREDIBLE. However, if it's delayed, we will play C1: Crucible of the Gods instead.
One other thing, we'll stay within this blog for the new adventure. I think the name "Grind4E" is still appropriate name; no matter which Fourthcore adventure you go through, you will surely feel like you're being put through a grinder!
ReplyDeleteOOC: Vitals tab updated. Check it out make sure your hp/stats/location on map are correct. Let me know if something is amiss.
ReplyDeleteI would like to finish this one first and then I would like to play the lich one but will wait when you are ready. I would be interested in the others as well.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I'm hoping you guys survive this chamber. The next and final one is really going to be fun. I'm departing from the Buhlman chambers and doing one completely on my own, empowered by the Fourthcore Alphabet.
ReplyDeleteOf course, you have to earn the right to play it... and things are looking pretty grim in the Sanguinary!
If Ambrose offers to sell his soul, might he get a super-human/elfen boon to crush the statue or become its master? Or something else just as effective for the shore term, say a year and a day? Plus bonuses in his negotiating this deal for having taint +2 and language Abyssal? ... He'll also work on his crazy laughter ... HMAAAAWAAAWAAA!
ReplyDeleteIf you go evil and slay the rest of the party, I just might include you as a NPC villain in a future adventure...
ReplyDeleteHmmm, the possibilities ... the fame ... the glory ... HMAAAAWAAAWAAA!
ReplyDeleteDon't believe I've had to confront or kill my other character in an adventure before ... Hmmm, the possibilities ... the fame ... the glory ... HMAAAAWAAAWAAA!
And let's play that out in a ground-hog's day scenario ... HMAAAAWAAAWAAA!
Okay time for some R&R, Merry Christmas to all and Happy Holidays!
