Chamber 6-7: Sanguinary

[Travok]
Travok enters the cell, looking to save Tharl. One of the two remaining heads seeks out the cleric, and it's all the dwarf can do to keep the beast from taking his head off! Tharl feels the paladin's healing and is instantly awake.
Tech: Travok down to 9 surges. Tharl is prone and at 9 hp.

[Hydralith]
The hydralith's third head regrows instantly, and while it does so, the other two harass Travok and Tharl!
Tech: Tharl takes 8 hit point damage, down to 1 hp!

OOC: Small post today. Let's see if you can finish this chamber up! Travok and Tharl are up, but Ambrose is still unconscious.

Good Luck!

  1. Mika glowered at the statue, again, sealing it's impending doom!

Using Astral Seal on the statue.
Attack Wisdom +2 vs Reflex: +7 vs Reflex
On hit: until the end of your next turn, the target takes a -2 penalty to all defense. The next ally who hits it before the end of your next turn regains hit points equal to 2 + Cha Modifer (+2). Total healed will be 8 due to the Healer's Lore class feature (adds Wis modifier to all hp healed by Healing powers).

Did anyone get healed from it last time? I wasn't watching closely to the posts.

  2. Ambrose received your heal last time while on the bottom floor.

  3. "I wasn't watching closely to the posts."

    OOC: Tsk, tsk...

  4. Joryn goes running forward, blood dripping down his arms, and bounds toward the downed wizard. "Ambrose, stay with me!" He grabs the limp mage and starts dragging him out of the cage. "Healer, fix this!" He looks over at Tharl, also lying on the ground. "I can't let you die. We've lost too many. How do we kill a creature that keeps regenerating?!"

    Tech:
    Move: Run to F13
Standard: Drag Ambrose as far out as possible.
Minor: Arcana (+1) to identify the creature and see if it has any weaknesses

  5. OOC: Are the stairs still aflame, and is the poison cloud still lingering on the lower floor?

  6. OOC: Yes, they will last until the end of the encounter.

  7. [Joryn]
Joryn runs into the jail cell in an attempt to rescue Ambrose, but even his mighty stone armor can't stop the hydralith! The beast picks up Joryn in its stone maw, delivers a wicked crunch that you swear must be Joryn's spine cracking in two... and spits out the cavalier to land against the bars and unconscious on the ground.

Tech: OA for max damage! Joryn is at -10 hp.

  8. Note: It didn't post earlier for some reason, but Mika's Astral Seal missed.

  9. Tharl stands and recognizes his peril..using everything he has, he repositions himself with the bars between him and the hyrdalith.

Tech: Double move..stand, them move to F11.

  10. [Tharl]
Tharl escapes the deathtrap jail cell, but is he truly safe?

OOC: I'll wait today for Smudge and Travok. If tomorrow I post before you do, too bad! :)

  11. OOC: Is it safe for me to use Paladin's Judgement on the hydra?

  12. OOC: If you want to attack from where you are, you can hit one of the two remaining heads with the attack. No OA's incurred.

If you move to stand next to the fountain, I'll allow your attack to target all heads. However, since you're not shifting, you would incur an OA.

    Your choice.

  13. Smudge watches as the hydralith regrows itself, rescue attempts fail. Focusing his skill, and stepping forward, he looses another bolt at the monstrosity on the wall.

"Do what you can," he grunts to those remaining conscious. "Or not. I'm going to find a way out of here."

He turns up to the dwarf and demands, in Dwarfish, "lay your hands on me, or that poison cloud down there will knock me out."

Tech: Minor: Knack for Success (+2 to attack roll)
Move: Acrobat's Trick to C11 (move up to speed -2, gain a +2 power bonus to next damage roll with a basic attach)
Attack: Standard - Ranged Basic Attack, Crossbow. Dex (+7) + [+2 knack for success] = 9 v AC.
    Damage 1d6 + 5 + [+2 acrobat's trick].

  14. OOC: Whoops, forgot I'd already used my Knack for Success this encounter. Ditch the minor move, and the +2 on the attack roll. Sorry!

  15. [Smudge]
Just as one hydra head regrows, Smudge destroys another with a well-placed crossbow bolt. But even that one is starting to regenerate right before your eyes!

    [Hydralith]
The hydralith regrows one head, bringing it back up to two active. One of the heads bites at Travok!
Tech: 11 points of damage, bringing you down to 10 hp.

    [Joryn]
Wait, what's this? Joryn leaps back into action!
Tech: Natural 20 on Death Save. Joryn spends a healing surge, is prone and at 10 hp!

    [Ambrose]
Ambrose slips one step closer to death.
Tech: 2 failed Death Saves. Ambrose is at Death's Door.

    OOC: Map update coming tomorrow!

  16. [Travok]

Travok lays hands on Smudge and then casts Paladin's Judgement on the hydra.

    [ooc]

Minor action: Lay hands on Smudge
Standard action: Paladin's Judgement on hydra
    Free action: none
    Move action: none

  17. Third verse, same as the first! Mika glowers at the annoying bar song bouncing through his head. Why did they always sound so trivial? he thinks, as he calls down another seal to the hydras doom.

    OOC:
Using Astral Seal on the statue.
Attack Wisdom +2 vs Reflex: +7 vs Reflex
On hit: until the end of your next turn, the target takes a -2 penalty to all defense. The next ally who hits it before the end of your next turn regains hit points equal to 2 + Cha Modifer (+2). Total healed will be 8 due to the Healer's Lore class feature (adds Wis modifier to all hp healed by Healing powers).

  18. Mika's Astral Seal does not deny him a second time. The hydralith seems not so ferocious.

Tech: The hydralith takes a -2 to defenses, and so forth as Simon says above.

  19. Joryn leaps to his feet. "We have to get Ambrose out of here! I'm going to try and hold off this creature. Figure out how we get out of here, try some doors or something." He roars violently drawing the attention of the creature and then goes charging in to toward the tremendous beast.

    Tech:
Move action: Stand up from prone
    Minor Action: Defender Aura
Standard Action: Charge to d15, melee basic attack against the Hydralith (+10 vs AC, 1d8+4 damage)
